Coral Gables is its own city, laid out in the 1920s with coral-rock entrances and a Mediterranean Revival plan that still shapes the streets. Most of the housing is single-family — stucco, tile roofs, and walled lots — with condominiums concentrated nearer Miracle Mile and the downtown core. The University of Miami campus sits on the city’s south side, so searches here often mix family homes with places within reach of the campus. Buyers who want an incorporated city, its own zoning, and a downtown shopping street usually start on this page. It is south of the City of Miami and more residential than Brickell, and it is a different building pattern from the high-rises downtown.
